Freelance Project:
Blueprint Cookie Co
A previous coworker and friend approached me to create a logo for her new cookie business! I had a lot of fun with this and got to show some of my illustration style with a clean overall look.
INSPO
This was the inspiration she sent me. She wanted it to be in blues and whites and liked to keep it clean and minimal. She also loved the idea of all things retro and wanted to incorporate a “cookie man” possibly holding a pencil, but trusted me with the rest!
SKETCHES
This was what I started with for sketches. I wanted to give many options to see which direction she wanted to go since her original ideas were pretty broad.
Her feedback was that she liked the bite out of the bottom circled one and the “cutesy” vibes of the top one. She also loved how they were sideways walking and noted that she also liked the pencils and blueprints the others were holding - just not sure how they fit into the ones she liked best. Along with this, she wanted it to be more along the lines of vintage mickey house boat vibes.
MOCKUPS
These were the iterations I sent her from the feedback I received. I tried to make her “cookie guy” with all her “wants” in mind but kept the logo's success at the forefront. I tried to incorporate him moving/swaying without necessarily picking a side for him to walk. I felt it would limit the use of the logo, whereas if he was leaning to one side, it could be placed anywhere and not close anything off. She fell in love with him and chose the thinner fonts off to the right and the bottom right stacked logo from the set. She wasn’t set on the color and wanted something a little more vibrant.
SECOND ITERATION/ BRANDING
I added some branding she could use for her new business, including a pattern for her website, a thank you note she could put inside boxes and stickers that could also be included in boxes or given out at markets.
